DIRECTOR OF BIOANALYTICAL - QPS TAIWAN

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for assay development for bio-molecules by LC/MS/MS. Responsible for the development of new technology and its implementation for bio-analytical operations in discovery and development. Assist in scheduling and operations of the laboratories. Communicate with clients, supervisor, and with staff about projects. Supervise scientists and technicians. Responsible for continuous training and development of scientists. Responsible for establishing standards of measurement for own performance and performance of scientific staff in the group. Prepares and conducts presentations of the work progress in the company meeting and present company capabilities to potential clients. Develop others in the team for effective delegation of specific tasks and responsibilities.

EXPERIENCE:
At least two years of hands-on LC/MS/MS method development/validation and sample analysis experience as senior research scientist in a GLP environment or equivalent position with excellent record of success. In addition, at least two years of supervisory experience with a strong record of management skill is required.

PROBLEM SOLVING:
Incumbent must have a mastery of techniques, practices, and theories which enable them to design innovative and ingenious solutions to solve highly complex and/or diverse problems. The incumbent is responsible for posing the right questions and framing the key issues in a way to test/examine pharmaceutical compounds, and must demonstrate good judgment in choosing problems to pursue.

ACCOUNTABILITY:
Position will be located in Taipei, Taiwan and will report to Vice President of Operations- Taiwan. Incubent has responsibility for: overall data generation for QPS Taiwan in the area of bioanalytical GLP to support drug discovery, assay development and sample analysis for bio-molecules development and training of scientists, exhibiting the motivation required to enable self and others to pursue new, yet worthwhile projects and/or shift direction with alacrity.

EDUCATION:
PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology or related science with 6 - 10 years of relevant industry experience.
