PHARMACOKINETICS

QPS scientists and laboratory personnel are experts in designing, performing, and interpreting the results of pharmacokinetic studies. The laboratories include an Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) accredited rodent animal facility opened in 2002 and state-of-the-art LC/MS/MS and immunoassay bioanalytical equipment. QPS performs pharmacokinetic studies for projects at the drug discovery stage (rapid turnaround), IND-enabling studies, as well as toxicokinetic and clinical pharmacokinetic studies.

Study design and model selection are customized to meet specific project needs. If required, pharmacokinetic study samples may include blood, bile, cerebrospinal fluid or other matrices, as well as tissue or tumor specimens that have special bioanalytical requirements.

LC/MS/MS instruments typically perform the analysis of pharmacokinetic samples, but specific studies may also employ immunoassays. Dosing routes might examine nasal, intra-duodenal and intra-portal delivery in addition to typical intravenous and oral routes.

Non-rodent studies are performed through QPS partner laboratories in USA. Discovery pharmacokinetic studies in dogs can also be conducted in Taiwan with the study management and pharmacokinetic data analysis performed in QPS-US.
