QPS offers the unique opportunity for obtaining both in vivo exposure data and biomarker data. QPS' immuno-biomarker group has two BioPlex systems to simultaneously measure multiple biomarkers in samples with limited volume. The BioPlex systems are compatible with almost all the commercially available multiplexing kits for use of Luminex technology. Cytokines, endocrines and metabolism are among the most tested panels.

Similarly, various commercial ELISA kits can be adapted to measure individual biomarkers with more flexibility.

Discovery lab

Our immuno-biomarker scientists come from a variety of background, and can confidently perform the biochemistry - cell biology experiment of your design. This can be proof-of-concept type of studies originated from the sponsor lab, or this can be a collaborative effort from both the QPS team and the sponsor.

Frequent experiments are incubation of selected cell-lines with the target compounds, followed by LPS stimulation to measure cytokine/chemokine release into the cell culture medium.

Example of this type of applied research in a clinical stage is when QPS helped the sponsor to generate a toxicity model to screen candidate analogs based on the feedback from the clinical safety data: Candidate compounds were incubated with peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) and the culture media was measured for cytokines level which was found to be associated with the side effect observed in clinical study.
